So far so good

Posted 5/11/2010 4:35pm by Neil and Tashney Moseley.

So far this spring has been pretty good.  Not to much to complain about around the farm.  Farmers markets have begun and you can look for us at West Lafayette on Wednesdays from 3:30pm-6:30pm, the Purdue market on Thursday afternoons from 3pm-6pm and Lafayette market on Saturdays from 7:30am-12:30pm.  Currently we have loose leaf lettuce, spinach, head lettuce, and romaine lettuce.

We now have all of our tomatoes planted inside the tunnel and out in the field.   Our tomatoes in the tunnel are now blooming.  We have also planted squash, cantaloupe, beans, peas, etc.  We have broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, carrots, radishes, onions, cabbage, kohlrabi, etc. in the ground.  It is quite a site to go out to the field and see the different color variations across the land.  Anytime you would like to make a visit to the farm, please feel free to contact us and we would be happy to show you around.

Our hog barn to greenhouse conversion is underway.  There is plastic on and sealed up.  We are going to use this greenhouse as an experiment greenhouse.  More information is to come!

We had our first farm tour today with Hopes and Promises Preschool Ministry.  The kids came out and was able to see our tunnels, hog barn to greenhouse conversion, plant a flower, and transplant a tomato plant.  They had a lot of fun being on the farm and splashing in the mud puddles along the tour.
